VLAN suitable for small network
Well, I
can't list the uses of VLAN because it's too many, but note that the
most important use of VLAN is management. A network telecommunicate and
transport information, using VLAN lets you determine who gets what data,
so privacy and confidentiality is not compromised. Think about a
supermarket, the office needs data about what fruit they need from the
farmer next day, while the cashier only need network connectivity to
send the cashing data to the Finance department. If no VLANs exist, all
data gets mixed together, may create a heavy traffic load and compromise
the data.
So, to conclude, here I point out at least 4 advantages of using VLAN:
1) management,
2) security,
2) bandwidth usage, or traffic,
4) separation of data
